Risk management and insurance play a role in every aspect of business operations. You’ll learn how to help individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies with overall risk management, financial planning, property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, and life and health insurance.

In our insurance and risk management program, you’ll take a core of general business courses along with advanced courses in finance and insurance and risk management. Customize your degree and explore your personal interests with one of our minors or concentrations and a range of business electives.

Admissions Requirements

To major in insurance and risk management, you must meet the University's admissions requirements.

Graduation Requirements

All insurance and risk management majors must complete 120 credit hours and pass all selected courses with a C or higher to graduate.

See all course requirements in the University catalog:

To earn a minor in insurance and risk management, you must take at least 18 credit hours of insurance and risk management courses. At least 6 hours need to be at the 300/400 level.

Students in any major can earn a business minor. Business majors can apply with the Moody Business Office of Student Services by email.
