17 Undergrads to be Honored for 4.0 GPAs

Seventeen undergraduate students from the University of ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ at Lafayette will be recognized for perfect 4.0 grade point averages during Spring 2009 commencement exercises on May 17.

The 17 were UL Lafayette’s top graduates for the Spring 2009 semester. They will be honored during Graduate School commencement at 5:30 p.m. in the Cajundome. These students include:

• Cooper Hawkins Battle, son of Julie Battle of Sunset and husband of Jennifer Battle of Sunset. Battle will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences. He majored in chemistry with a minor in mathematics.

• Merline G. Bollich, wife of John G. Bollich of Eunice. Bollich will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Education. She majored in elementary education with a concentration on grades 1 - 6.

• Megan Elizabeth Broussard, daughter of Brandon and Mary Broussard of Lafayette. Broussard will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts. She majored in public relations with minors in business and Spanish.

• Katherine Elizabeth Dallas, daughter of Robert and Dolores Dallas of Lafayette. Dallas will receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. She has a double major in management information systems and accounting.

• Jennifer D. Draughon, daughter of Steve and Lisa Draughon of Lafayette. Draughon will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Education. She majored in English education with a concentration on grades 6 - 12.

• Brandon Robert Dunphy, son of Robert and Kay Dunphy of Lafayette. Dunphy will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. He has a double major in accounting and finance.

• Camille Elise Gauthier, daughter of Lester and Irene Gauthier of Lafayette. Gauthier will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts. She majored in political science with a minor in communications.

• Lauren Ashley Jankower, daughter of Steve and Laura Jankower of Lafayette. Jankower will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Education. She majored in English education with a concentration on grades 6 - 12.

• Danielle Elizabeth Kahanek, daughter of Daniel and Charlotte Kahanek of Opelousas. Kahanek will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences, where she majored in biology and minored in chemistry.

• Elizabeth Catherine Leday, daughter of Willie and Julie Leday of Lafayette. Leday will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Liberal Arts. She majored in psychology with a minor in child and family studies.

• Kayla Marie Karam Ortego, daughter of Craig and Sharie Ortego of Lafayette. Ortego will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences. She majored in biology and minored in psychology.

• Lankhanh Ngoc Pham, daughter of Tan Pham and Levy Mai of Abbeville. Pham will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences. She majored in biology and minored in chemistry.

• Leslie Marcelle Saloom, daughter of Douglas and Mary Margaret Saloom of Lafayette. Saloom will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts. She majored in public relations with a minor in business.

• Emily Hazel Thibodeaux, daughter of Patrick Thibodeaux and Patricia Mire-Watson of Lafayette. Thibodeaux will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts. She majored in English with a minor in French.

• Brittany Lynn Viator, daughter of William and Hollie Ward of Great Valley, N.Y. Ward will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Education. She majored in elementary education with a concentration on grades 1 - 5.

• Jammie Eyre Ward, daughter of Steve and Lisa Draughon of Lafayette. Draughon will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Education. She majored in English education with a concentration on grades 6 - 12.

• Maria Elise Zeringue, daughter of Keith and Helen Zeringue of Thibodaux. Zeringue will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts. She majored in modern languages with a concentration on French-Francophone Studies and minored in Spanish.

Each semester the university recognizes its top graduates during Graduate School commencement exercises.
