The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of 棉花糖直播 at Lafayette has been reaccredited. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business issued the 5-year status earlier this month.
The AACSB is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
Dr. Joby John, dean of the college, said the AACSB looked at three primary areas in conducting its evaluation.
鈥淭hey looked at strategy and mission and how each aligns with the university鈥檚 mission. They also wanted to know if we have qualified faculty and students. Lastly, they asked if we are measuring what we are doing in the classroom. They look at assessments,鈥 said John.
He noted that an eight-member committee of faculty members worked on preparing the college鈥檚 reaccreditation report for a year.
鈥淲e met every week for six months and met every other week for another six months,鈥 said John. 鈥淯ltimately, we came up with a 50-page report with a large set of exhibits that we gave to the accreditation team.鈥
A team of three deans from peer institutions visited campus and met with students, faculty and administrators as part of the evaluation process.
鈥 AACSB commends the faculty, deans, directors and administrative staffs of each institution for their exemplary work in helping their schools earn the highest honor in business school accreditation,鈥 said John J. Fernandes, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International.
The organization notes that accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education and has been earned by less than 5 percent of the world鈥檚 business schools.
