Danika Arenibas Is 2010 Homecoming Queen

Danika Arenibas of Lafayette will reign over 2010 Homecoming activities at the University of ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ at Lafayette. She is the daughter of Fred and Dani Arenibas of Lafayette.

Danika ArenibasArenibas is a senior public relations major who was nominated for the Homecoming court by Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. She currently serves as secretary of Kappa Delta sorority and is chairman of its shamrock drive. She organized the drive which raised more than $27,000 for Prevent Child Abuse America.

Arenibas is a representative on the Panhellenic Council, the Greek Council and has volunteered for the Games of Acadiana for the past eight years.

Maids of the 2010 court are Rachel Bonnette, Candice Dazet, Randi LeBlanc and Hilary Villien.

Rachel BonnetteRachel Bonnette is a junior majoring in marketing with a minor in finance and international business. She is the daughter of Lorraine Kudirka of Colorado and Robert and Sandra Bonnette of Lafayette. Bonnette was nominated by the University Program Council.

She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and the Student Orientation Staff where she has served on the leadership team and the performance committee. She is also a member of the Student Government Association where she has served as a senator for the College of Business and been a member of the public relations committee.

Bonnette is a member of the University Program Council and has served on its spirit committee for two years. She also participated in UL Lafayette’s Relay for Life and was its secretary/treasurer for a year.

Candice DazetCandice Dazet is a senior majoring in mass communications with a concentration in broadcasting. She is the daughter of Julie Alley of Slidell. She was nominated for the court by Order of Omega, Greek honor society.

Dazet is involved with several organizations on campus including Order of Omega, Ragin’ Peppers and the University Program Council. She is also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi where she has served as vice president of communications and chair of intramurals. With Rho Lambda, she has served as president.

Dazet was named Greek Woman of the Year and is a member of the Greek Hall of Fame and Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities.

Randi LeBlancRandi LeBlanc is a senior majoring in biology. She is the daughter of Dutz and Margaret LeBlanc of Breaux Bridge. She was nominated for the court by Kappa Delta sorority.

LeBlanc is president of Kappa Delta and is a member of the Student Leadership Council, Student Orientation Staff, University Program Council, Up Til’ Dawn program, Student Alumni Association and Pre-Professional Society.

She is also a member of Rho Lambda, Order of Omega, Alpha Lambda Delta and Sigma Alpha Lambda. She is a Association of Future Alumni Scholarship recipient and a Pi Kappa Alpha 2010 Dream Girl.

Hilary VillienHilary Villien is a senior majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Vanessa and Gary Villien of Maurice. She was nominated to the court by Delta Delta Delta.

She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, University Program Council, Student Government Association, Up Til Dawn program, and Student Orientation Staff.

She has helped with the Games of Acadiana for several years and helped raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Nominees for the homecoming court are submitted by various student organizations on campus. The senior football players choose the court after nominees have been interviewed by student leaders.
