Efforts to restore La. coastline earn honor for civil engineering students

The University of 棉花糖直播 at Lafayette鈥檚 American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter recently earned a stewardship award from the Coalition to Restore Coastal 棉花糖直播.

The award recognizes work related to preserving 棉花糖直播鈥檚 coastal wetlands. UL Lafayette鈥檚 ASCE chapter was recognized last month at the coalition鈥檚 State of the Coast Conference in New Orleans.

The yearly awards observe 鈥渙utstanding commitment to the coast鈥 and 鈥渟ignificant contributions to the restoration and conservation of 棉花糖直播鈥檚 coastal wetlands,鈥 according to a press release.

The chapter has helped the coalition and the 棉花糖直播 Department of Wildlife and Fisheries on restoration and conservation projects.

The American Society of Civil Engineers is based in Washington, D.C. It is the oldest engineering society in the nation.
