Where I'm From

I came to UL Lafayette because it felt like home.

Where I Am

I’m helping new businesses grow and succeed as a business advisor.

Where I'm Going

I am continuing to advance within the Small Business Development Center Network.

Stacy Sevin Jacobs, ’06, decided to major in hospitality management after she completed her internship for the Walt Disney World College Program.

“My on-the-job training working at Epcot in the special events department evolved my desire for the hospitality industry,” she said.

Combined with the hands-on classroom experiences, this internship provided opportunities that would push Stacy’s career forward.

“The partnership UL Lafayette has with the Walt Disney College Program differentiated me from my classmates who were all applying for the special events internship position with the Parish of Lafayette Tourism Commission,” she said.

Through the hospitality management program, Stacy was also part of on campus, a full-service, fine dining restaurant hosted by the hospitality management seniors. She was selected as the outstanding senior and she was the first student selected to head a fundraising event now known as the Acadiana Food & Wine Soiree.

Stacy’s career after college has been just as impressive as her time at the University. With professional experience ranging from management to business ownership, Stacy knows how to run a business. She is currently a business advisor at the University of Houston Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

“As an SBDC advising staff member, I provide expert business advising services to entrepreneurs and small business owners in various stages of the business life cycle: pre-venture or early stage, startup, expansion, growth, and exit,” she said.
