Moody College of Business launches slogan competition

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration wants students, faculty and staff members at the University of 棉花糖直播 at Lafayette to craft catchy slogans that could be used to market the college and its programs.

Entries for the college鈥檚 slogan competition will be accepted from 9 a.m. on Sept. 8 until 6 p.m. on Sept. 17. Original slogan ideas can be submitted via a Web form at .

The Web page lists contest rules, guidelines and tips that include a suggested length of three to seven words. Contestants also are encouraged to learn more about the Moody College of Business, and to consider key messages about the University鈥檚 mission and purpose. Those messages include:

鈥 we鈥檙e committed to research for a reason;
鈥 this is our time, and we鈥檙e determined to make the most of it;
鈥 we have a gift for bringing people together;
鈥 we鈥檙e eager to share what we鈥檙e learning;
鈥 we teach the real meaning of joie de vivre; and
鈥 our Ragin鈥 Cajun spirit goes beyond athletics.

Potential prizes include a total of $1,500 in retail gift certificates to Best Buy, with $500 for first place. A selection committee will determine winners. If no entries are deemed of sufficient quality, prizes will be forfeited. In the case of multiple entries of the same slogan, the first one submitted would receive the prize if selected as one of the top entries.

鈥淭his competition allows the creativity of our students, faculty and staff across the UL Lafayette campus to capture the spirit of the remarkable programs Moody College of Business offers,鈥 said Dean Joby John, who will serve on the selection committee.

The Moody College of Business is cited in the 2014 edition of the Princeton Review鈥檚 鈥淏est 295 Business Schools.鈥 The popular guidebook has included the college each year since 2008. It offers nine undergraduate degrees and multiple graduate programs including a Masters of Business Administration, an MBA with Health Care Administration concentration, an Executive MBA and the new Masters in Accounting and Graduate Business Certificate programs.
