Presidential Interviews Start Today

The University of ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ at Lafayette Presidential Search Committee will conduct public interviews with five candidates at the ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE) Center on the Lafayette campus Monday and Tuesday.

Search consultant Dr. James Fisher will address the committee when they begin their public meeting at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12. The agenda, which is available at , includes the following candidate interview schedule:

Monday, Nov. 12

2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. Dr. Karen White
4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Dr. Clifford Stanley

Tuesday, Nov. 13

9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Dr. E. Joseph Savoie
10:30 a.m. – Noon Dr. Steve Landry
Noon – 1:30 p.m. Dr. Raymond Flumerfelt

There will be an opportunity during the interviews for members of the public to submit questions for the candidates. The process also allows for the candidates familiarize themselves with the institution as they will spend the two days touring the campus and city, as well as meeting with university faculty, staff, and students.

Voting members on the presidential search committee are ULS Board members Paul Aucoin, Elsie Burkhalter, Jeffrey Jenkins, Renee Lapeyrolerie, Jimmy Long, Sr., Wayne Parker, Olinda Ricard (student member), and Winfred Sibille, as well as UL Lafayette Faculty Senate representative John Meriwether.

Serving on the search committee in an advisory, non-voting capacity are community member and UL Lafayette Foundation representative James Prince and UL Lafayette Student Government Association President Candace Urbanowski.

The UL System Board of Supervisors launched an extensive, national search after President Ray Authement announced April 17 his plans to retire. The search committee held public hearings in Lafayette on June 14 and Sept. 12. The committee selected five candidates to interview out of 38 public applicants during an Oct. 3 public meeting in Baton Rouge.
