UL Press books vie for literary awards

Three titles published by the University of ޻ֱ at Lafayette Press have been named finalists in the 17th annual “Foreword Review” Book of the Year Awards. They are:

  • “Artist Spaces, New Orleans,” Tina Freeman and Morgan Molthrop in the Photography category, a comprehensive portrait of artists and their relationship to space;
  •  “The Irish in New Orleans,” by Laura D. Kelley, in the Regional category, a history of the Irish in New Orleans, illustrated with photographs;
  •  “You Don’t Know Me,” by James Nolan, in the Short Story category, a collection of short stories about New Orleans.

In the next three months, a panel of more than 100 librarians and booksellers will determine the winners in 63 categories.

Winners will be announced at the American Library Association conference on Friday, June 26 in San Francisco.

Foreword Reviews is the only review magazine solely dedicated to reviewing titles by independent and university presses.
