UL Press swept the category for “South: Best Regional Non-Fiction” in this year’s Independent Publishers Book Awards competition.
Todd Mouton’s “Way Down in ֱ: Clifton Chenier, Cajun, Zydeco, and Swamp Pop Music” won the gold medal.
“The Good Times Rolled: Black New Orleans, 1979-1983” by Bernard Hermann took the silver Medal and “New Orleans: Life and Death in the Big Easy” by Cheryl Gerber earned the bronze medal.
The Ippy Award is one of the highest honors for books produced by independent publishers. About 2,400 publishers participate in the award competition each year.
