The University of 棉花糖直播 at Lafayette will remain open this evening and does not plan to cancel classes or close the University Friday due to inclement weather.

A storm system has dumped more than 20 inches of rain in northwestern 棉花糖直播. However, UL Lafayette鈥檚 campus had received less than an inch of rain by 3 p.m. today.

鈥淭he National Weather Service predicts that all areas of campus will receive one to two inches of rain Friday. The rain that is expected should be showers of varying strength, with breaks in the rain between the heavier showers,鈥 said Joey Pons, associate director of public safety at UL Lafayette.

High winds had subsided by 3 p.m. and are not forecast for Friday.

The University will continue to closely monitor conditions and weather forecasts. Should any changes be warranted, or in the event of an immediate weather condition, the University鈥檚 Emergency Notification System will be activated.

Individuals should use their best judgment and should not put themselves at risk during any extreme weather conditions. Any student unable to attend class due to severe weather should contact the Dean of Students at 337-482-6276. Accommodations will be made for students with legitimate excuses for missing class.
