The University of ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ at Lafayette will host a zydeco brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Student Union’s Cypress Lake Dining Room. The event will ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ music by Vermilion Express.
After brunch, diners can take a free shuttle to and from Cajun Field for the football game or walk a short distance to Festivals Acadiens et Creoles in Girard Park.
On the menu: chicken gumbo, chicken Florentine pasta casserole, baked potato topped with crawfish etouffee and cheese, scrambled eggs, grits, sausage, tater tots, sausage, stuffed pork loin, mashed potatoes, steakhouse spinach, boudin, Southern-style biscuits, and beignets.
Tickets are $12.99 per adult and $6.99 for children between the ages of 4 and 8. Children 3 and under eat for free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
Purchase one full-price brunch and receive one free UL Lafayette Dining refillable tumbler. The tumbler includes a 25 percent discount on refills at all dining locations (UL Lafayette Dining locations only). Tickets may be purchased on site the day of the event.
Zydeco brunches also will be held in conjunction with the last three home football games of 2015: Homecoming Oct. 31 featuring Corey Ledet, and Nov. 2 and December 5 featuring SeanTrcalek.
