"UL Lafayette pushes us to bring more to the curriculum. The curriculum says to do this, but how can we do more? We want to add to and enhance our lessons. You can鈥檛 just read a book about teaching 鈥 you have to get your hands dirty. It鈥檚 not an easy career choice, and this program is not easy. It鈥檚 worth it, though.鈥

鈥淢y passion for reading and writing has fueled my interest in English education, and I hope to inspire a similar sense of passion in my future students. I am excited to begin using my love for reading and writing to instill literacy skills that will assist my students in reaching their full potential.鈥 

鈥淚鈥檓 learning a lot. I already feel like I鈥檓 more comfortable in the classroom, and I鈥檓 finding my teaching style. I鈥檓 very happy that I get full-year student-teaching experience 鈥 you get to know the students better, and now they know me, they trust me. They understand that I鈥檓 also learning, and they want to help me run the class as best I can.鈥
