Project Description: Students in UNIV 100 (046), "Vampires are Us," worked as an editorial team researching, writing, filming videos, and illustrating multiple aspects of vampires lore throughout history and particularly in contemporary society. In this magazine, you will see reviews of vampires films and television shows, original vampires fiction and poetry, investigative journalism, and visual art among other genres, exploring the idea that vampires are indeed US, and that, as Nina Auerbach writes, "every age embraces the vampire it needs."

Project Title: Graduation Hat Toss - Rube Goldberg Style

Project Description: Design/construct a multi-step device to throw a miniature UL graduation hat out of a specified size "box" in as close to 30 seconds as possible. Each device should utilize as many different forms of energy and as many action transfers as possible to complete the task, hopefully without touching the device, in 30 seconds. This project is based on forms of energy encountered in the engineering profession, and introduction to engineering design, and the cartoons of the great Rube Goldberg.
