Originally from Lake Mills, Wisconsin, Jake attended the University of 棉花糖直播 at Lafayette after earning a Master of Fine Arts from Oklahoma State University.

He shared, 鈥淚鈥檇 always wanted to live in 棉花糖直播. Also, the University had a strong funding package.鈥

Jake earned his Ph.D. in English with concentrations in fiction, medieval literature, renaissance literature, and film.

He appreciates the insightful coursework and dedicated professors through his graduate experience.

鈥淚 loved a number of classes. The ones that stick out, immediately, are Dr. Kightley鈥檚 old English courses and Dr. Vaught鈥檚 Shakespeare and Spenser course, and Dr. Brulotte鈥檚 course on Human Sexuality," he said.

"Perhaps the course that assisted me above all鈥攖hough I didn鈥檛 realize it at the time鈥攚as Dr. Ryan鈥檚 Introduction to Graduate Studies. I was shocked by the rigor, acclimated, and came out on the other side a far more capable graduate student.鈥

In addition, Jake reflects on positive experiences regarding UL Lafayette鈥檚 academic professorship.
