Tuition & Costs

As an online student, you’ll pay the same flat-rate tuition whether you’re earning your degree across the street or across the country.

Your total tuition will depend on your degree program and, if you’re earning a bachelor’s degree, the total number of courses you need to complete your degree.

What is flat-rate tuition?

Flat-rate tuition is the exclusive tuition rate for UL Lafayette online students and includes access to athletics events, online library services, career services, Microsoft Office 365, and IT Support.

You won’t be charged for on-campus services and benefits, so if you’re interested in using the recreation center, on-campus health care, childcare, intramural sports, or transportation, you’ll want to explore our Campus Connection Plan.

Per-credit rates vary slightly by program. For most online degree and certificate programs, flat-rate tuition is set at $380 per credit for undergraduate courses and $480 per credit for graduate courses.

Exceptions are outlined below:

RN to BSNMBAM.Ed. in Educational Leadership
$316.67 per credit, or $283.33 per credit for partner community colleges and hospitals $387.88 per credit – includes learning materials $416.66 per credit/$2,500 per semester for cohorts

The University of ÃÞ»¨ÌÇÖ±²¥ at Lafayette Title IV school code is 002031.

Are there additional costs or fees?

Expect to buy or rent a textbook for online courses where they are required. Many online courses – including all of our MBA courses – use Open Educational Resources, which are quality learning materials offered at no additional cost to you.

Some online courses may require that you access proctoring services like ProctorU or Examity for exams, in compliance with UL Lafayette's accreditor, SACS-COC, which mandates secure login or proctored exams to verify student identity. The integrity of academic programs at UL Lafayette depends on the institution’s ability to authenticate the identity of online students.

Online students will also see a Distance Learning fee. This fee, included in the flat-rate tuition, is listed separately on your account statement and supports the E-Learning Support Fund. Established in Fall 2010, this fund helps grow hybrid and online courses by supporting electronic library collections, student services, course design improvements, and IT/learning management system projects (such as Moodle) that benefit all students.

The support fees are:

  • Undergraduate hybrid (HY) and online (OL) courses: $30 per credit hour
  • Graduate hybrid (HY) and online (OL) courses: $50 per credit hour

You’ll see these courses labeled as "Hybrid section" or "Online section" in the schedule of courses, where students can find information by selecting the course Title and then selecting Additional Fees.
