Students who live in the residence halls or family housing are required to purchase permits each semester. Residential students may have one parking permit with one car each semester. The residential student must be the driver of the vehicle.
If a different car is brought to campus, the current vehicle must be removed from the permit and the new one must be linked to it. Residential students do not have the ability to change the vehicle on their residential permit. Therefore, an email must be sent to geauxpark@louisiana.edu providing the license plate number, issuing state of the plate, make, model, year and color of the vehicle. Do this before bringing the vehicle on campus to prevent unnecessary citations.
The car must be registered to a student's parking account before purchasing a permit. Parking permits are NOT transferable among individuals and any such transfer will be a violation of the "Code of Conduct" and the UL Lafayette Traffic Code.
Permits are a two-step process: Vehicle registration and purchase permit
To register your vehicle and purchase a semester permit, log into the portal, select Campus Services to see the Parking & Transportation Services section. Enter the vehicle information. After the vehicle information has been entered, the second step is to purchase a permit. A confirmation email will be sent if the transaction is successful. No confirmation email = no permit. Go back and try again.

- The Health Sciences Garage will be part of the hotel shuttle route.
- All vehicles must have an active parking permit to park at the hotel or on campus.
- Only vehicles with an active permit will be allowed to park at the hotel or Health Sciences Garage depending on the permit. Unregistered vehicles will be cited and/or towed from the hotel and neighboring businesses.
The Office of Transportation Services utilizes license plate recognition instead of issuing physical permits so you should pull in to all spots so your license plate is visible to the plate reader. Failure to do this will result in a citation.
