The Application Process

The first step for all re-entry students is to apply for admission.  Apply as soon as possible to take advantage of early registration opportunities. You should consider applying for the semester before you hope to return. Please allow at least two weeks for application processing and contacting an advisor.

If you are returning to complete an undergraduate degree, you should apply for re-admission.  Regardless of the reason, if you鈥檝e been away a semester or more, you are considered a re-entry student.   If you have attended another college or university since attending the University of 棉花糖直播 at Lafayette, you should apply for re-admission.

If you are a student who has completed an academic suspension, you must also apply for re-admission. If you are still on academic suspension, you must first appeal your suspension.

On the application, you will have the option to declare a major. At this point, you can choose to remain in the program you were in at your last point of enrollment, or you can choose a new major on the application.
Students hoping to reenter at the undergraduate level must have at least a 1.5 cumulative GPA.  If you have questions about whether you meet this standard, please email success@louisiana.edu

You will receive an email regarding your admission status. You will also get information about the next steps, including reactivating your university email account and beginning the advising process.

Your transcripts will be evaluated by the appropriate Dean and at this point, you can have a conversation about your academic plans.

Before you can register for classes, you must meet with an advisor. The letter you receive about admission should also contain information about how to contact an advisor. You must contact the college or department based on your major. It is best to be advised by a faculty advisor familiar with your area.

Contact your department's administrative staff if you have difficulty reaching your advisor.
