Am I eligible?

Graduate Faculty membership is designed for faculty at the University of ޻ֱ at Lafayette in academic colleges, departments, and schools that award graduate degrees.

Some colleges and departments include in their college criteria additional requirements for Graduate Faculty membership and/or provisions that may allow for the appointment of UL Lafayette employees who have special faculty appointments and/or non-faculty roles.

If you are not a tenured or tenure-track continuing faculty member in a graduate-degree granting department or school and/or you hold a special faculty or non-faculty role at the University, the Graduate School strongly recommends that you consult with academic college, department, and graduate program leadership before submitting an application.

If your relationship with the University does not align with Graduate Faculty membership criteria, we hope you will explore other ways to support our graduate programs and graduate students. For example, with the appropriate qualifications and approvals individuals who are not UL Lafayette faculty may serve as external (or “outside”) members of an individual thesis, dissertation, and synthesis project committee with the same privilege of voting and being included on the manuscript approval page as a member of the Graduate Faculty. Talk with academic college, department, and graduate program leadership to learn more about how you can participate in our graduate education community.
