Renewable Energy

You should minor in renewable energy if: 

  • You are an engineering or engineering and technology management major.
  • You are an environmentalist and want to make a change for the better.
  • You want a career in a rapidly growing industry.

A minor in renewable energy will give you a competitive edge if you want to work in the growing fields of solar, water, or wind energy. 

This minor will give you the fundamental knowledge of power and energy, safety, and economics. You will gain specialized knowledge in one or more areas such as: wind farms, biofuels processing, bulk energy storage, hydroelectric power, geothermal power, and solar thermal power. 

Program Requirements

To earn your minor in renewable energy, you must also major in either engineering or industrial technology.

In order to complete a minor in renewable energy, you will need to take 18 credits hours of relevant courses. Up to 12 hours can be counted toward your major engineering curriculum.
